The Civic Theatre is dedicated to being welcoming, accessible and inclusive for the widest possible audience. We provide a range of services and facilities to enable all visitors to attend performances in our heritage-listed venues. With advance notice, we can accommodate a range of individual needs and we strongly encourage visitors to notify team members of any individual needs at the time of booking.

Auracast Assisted Hearing

Auracast is an assisted listening technology that delivers clearer audio throughout the venue.

Auracast receivers can be collected from the Ticket Office prior to the performance. Devices are available with headphones or a neck loop for hearing aid users.


Some Auracast-enabled hearing devices may also connect directly to the system using a phone. Please refer to your audiologist or device manufacturer for compatibility and setup instructions specific to your device.

Companion Cards

NSW Companion Cards are welcome at our venues. Tickets booked using a Companion Card must be booked via phone and collected at the Ticket Office.

Assistance Animals

Animals trained to assist people with disabilities are welcome at our venues. To ensure appropriate seating is allocated please advise your requirements when booking.

Accessible Parking

There is a 5 minute drop-off zone located at 282 King Street (outside Crystalbrook Kingsley), approximately 150m from Civic Theatre.

Accessible Parking spaces can be found at the following locations near our venues:

  • Burwood Street - 5 spaces
  • Auckland Street - 2 Spaces

Cloakrooms

Civic Theatre, Playhouse and City Hall do not have cloakrooms. All personal items are left at your own risk. 

Seating

For the safety of all patrons, please ensure that all members of your party, including children, remain seated at all times, as our seats fold up when not in use.

Children Events

  • Civic Theatre, Playhouse and City Hall have very limited pram parking, which is subject to availability on the day. 
  • All prams and items are left at your own risk, and please take any valuables with you.
  • A limited number of booster seats are available for children aged 5 years and under.
