Newcastle Gilbert & Sullivan Players present a sensational double bill for its 2010 season.
Act 1 is Mermaids of Mull, the ‘lost’ G&S classic. In this hilarious satire, populated by characters from various Gilbert and Sullivan's shows, comic operetta hi-jinks meet hip-hop cool. Written by Nick Higginbotham and Gareth Hudson for all ages, Mermaids blends much loved classic songs with hip hop dance and energy.
Act 2 presents Trial by Jury-- the satirical 'battle of the sexes' courtroom drama that began the Gilbert & Sullivan tradition. This production includes extended dialogue written by director, Chris Maxfield.
