Supercars weekend 24-26 Nov

Visiting the Civic Theatre for Kitty Flanagan or The Waifs?

This weekend Newcastle is also hosting the Supercars Coates Hire Newcastle 500 event.
Due to the large numbers of visitors expected to this event, changed traffic conditions will likely cause delays to those travelling into the city.

We strongly advise people to take this into account when planning their trip to the Civic Theatre.
Public transport will be available with additional services in place. Footpaths in the area remain open. Parking in the area will be limited with clearways and closures in place.

For further information about the event road closures please check the Supercars and Transport NSW websites.
With this in mind, please allow additional time to travel to the Civic Theatre, if you get here early you can always grab a drink in the bar!

Traffic Changes on Hunter Street between Auckland and Darby Street.

From Tuesday 12 September 2017 Hunter Street will be closed to traffic between Auckland and Darby streets while Newcastle Light Rail is built. Footpaths will remain open.

While the road may be closed to traffic, we are still open for business!
The attached map outlines the construction zone and shows where nearby parking is available. Hunter Street is expected to be reopened to traffic between Auckland and Darby streets by the end of 2017.
More information on Newcastle Light Rail and changes to the area is available at revitalisingnewcastle.nsw.gov.au/construction
